When your job is to spread the word about others, how can you spread the word about yourself? That was the challenge for Innovation Island, which supports technology-based research and start-ups as an industry-based non-profit with 35 strategic partnership agreements. To help, ZINC was brought on board to expand awareness of their activities and successes. We created a communications plan that provided a snapshot view of how the organization was communicating, clarified specific audiences it needed to reach, outlined goals for the organization, and included strategies for how IITA leadership could speak more effectively to the public online and via traditional tools such as video, social media, and events. We also provided on-call issues management support for political and membership issues.
