Maggie specializes in strategic communications planning and public engagement, with over thirty years experience in both the public and private sectors. She has worked with provincial authorities, federal, provincial and municipal governments, First Nations and non-profits to seek solutions to complex problems and create strategic communications to address public needs. Maggie is a seasoned media relations practitioner and holds her APR designation, as well as an IAP2 Foundations certificate.


Notably, Maggie got her start in journalism, becoming editor of Victoria’s Focus on Women magazine, and a regular contributor to well-known publications like British Columbia and Canadian Geographic magazines, and several newspapers. In 1992, Maggie developed the accredited curriculum and was program director for Western Academy of Photography’s journalism program where she taught for 10 years. Maggie was a founding partner in a local Victoria-based communications agency, Artemis PR + Design Inc., which she and her business partner ran for 15 years.
