Marci Hotsenpiller

About

It began in 1998 when ZINC founder Marci (Crossan) Hotsenpiller discovered the power of PR: a technology start up in Victoria BC needed help telling the world about their website selling out-of-print books. Marci created the first international public relations campaign for online bookseller Abebooks.com and within two months the company was featured in USA Today, the Globe and Mail, Fast Company, The Guardian, and on CNN.

The skills used to get a small tech company noticed can also be applied to getting government programs noticed, or helping entrepreneurs enter the media spotlight. In fact, that’s exactly how Marci has spent the last ten years: working with a range of clients from governments to innovative technology start-ups as well as authors and entrepreneurs.

Marci knows how to get online and offline coverage for clients. Her strong contacts with reporters, journalists, bloggers and editors, have helped shape around–the-corner or around-the-world communication campaigns. Her experience as a published journalist means that she understands a good story and how newsrooms work. More than the sum of these skills, she loves the challenge of helping clients get heard via the media.
